1. What do your services entail?
- We offer in-home child safety evaluation consultations and same-day installation of our recommended child safety devices with the goal of child injury prevention and peace-of-mind for parents. We are a one-stop child safety service as we assess, consult, sell and install.
- The "estimate only" appointment costs $45 is usually an hour long with a trained child safety consultant who walks room to room with you assessing the safety hazards and speaking to how we can remedy them. Some hazards can be made safe with child safety devices and some can not. It's an information laden consultation.

2. Can I get a list of your product? A brochure?
- The list of product we personally recommend for your home will be provided to you upon completion of the in-home safety evaluation. We don’t distribute our price lists otherwise. The gate prices are in the “Gate Gallery” found on the Products page of our website.
- We have researched and highly scrutinized hundreds of child safety devices and continue to keep up on the latest revisions and new products brought to the injury prevention market. Amidst a vast multitude of substandard safety items commonly sold in retail stores we have unearthed the best. Much of our product is not sold retail and is distributed only to professional babyproofers.
- Feel free to log on to our website to see some of the work we’ve done. The gates can be viewed on our website on the Products page. Just click on the “Gate Gallery.” The gates come in black and white and can be custom configured for your home.

3. Do you do free estimates?
- Our in-home consultation fee is $75, which includes a detailed home walk through and an estimate for product and installation fees. The consult takes 45 minutes to an hour and is ideal for first time parents who like the enlightening briefing on what their child’s subsequent developmental stages will entail and which hazards in your home they will likely find. We encourage you to takes notes so you can share the injury prevention information with your spouse, grandparents or a caretaker of the children. We will credit back $45 of the consult fee toward all jobs $350 or more.
- With gas prices being what they are we can not afford to give free professional child safety consultations. If another company offers free estimates they have to be padding the salary and gas fees in elsewhere to be able to stay profitable. Remember, you get what you pay for! When it comes to child safety one should shop for quality and aim for a thorough assessment of your home’s hazards.
- O.C.’s formerly largest babyproofing company, Kidproof, went out of business three years ago due to giving free estimates.

4. What if my job doesn’t reach the $350 limit?
- We’ll work with you. The goal here is to get your home babyproofed without it having to cost us money. If you fear your job will be too small to take advantage of the waived estimate fee let us know and we’ll schedule less time for your estimate/job than we normally do (average job is 4 hours), which will allow us to fit in another appointment that day. That way we both win!

5. Do you do custom gates?
- Yes. Our gates can be custom configured to suit the needs of most homes. We use custom mount kits to install gates that need to attach to railing, so there’s no need to mar the railing or drill into wood posts. The gates come in white and black and can conform to any size opening.
- Feel free to log on to our website to see some of the work we’ve done. The gates can be viewed on our website on the Products page. Just click on the “Gate Gallery.” The gates come in black and white and can be custom configured for your home.

7. What are the gate prices?
- The gates are $120 each and the extensions are $39 for a $10 inch and $44 for a 21 ¾ inch. They come in black and white.
- But don’t let the prices fool you! You truly get what you pay for with baby gate and these gates have been personally chosen by the owner who is a self proclaimed “nit-picky” mother of two who wants no fuss and perfect functionality. She likes her home to be run like a well-oiled machine and loves that she can open the gates with one finger while juggling a child and her large handbag, and kick it closed!
- The gates are a great investment and we’ve NEVER had to return one. That’s why we call this model the “Mommy’s Favorite.”

8. Do you do wood gates?
- Yes, but not on same-day install as we don’t keep them in stock as they are not the best as far as functionality. The wood gates we sell are $180 each and can be seen on the website. They are beautiful but from a functionality standpoint we have to warn you that they are not the “Mommy’s Favorite” as they are hard to open and close. Additionally, they do not have extensions and only fit spaces up to 52”.

9. Do you sell the retractable gates?
- Yes. They are perfect for certain tight areas and our consultants can help you assess if this gate would be best for your home. From a functionality standpoint we have to warn you that they are not “Mommy’s Favorite” as they are very hard to open and close.

10. What’s the average price for a home my size?
- Naturally, I can’t speak to the specifics of every home, but our average 3-bed, 2-bath, 2-story home ranges from $700 – $1200.
- The most expensive items are gates and Plexiglas. The gates are recommended for stair top and bottom and Plexiglas is custom cut and installed over railing that’s not to code or perhaps stylized creating a ladder effect where child can climb.

- Installations can take anywhere from one hour after the estimate (which is the minimum we come out for) and 8 hours. It depends on the size of home and amount of work that needs to be done.

21. Do you service Simi Valley, Riverside County, Temecula area?
- Yes, we do for a $75 travel fee. We apologize but with gas prices this high we need to run our business cost effectively.

22. We’re moving soon and don’t want to spend a lot on babyproofing only to leave it all behind. What’s the minimum we need to do?
- This is a pretty common question. Gates are a must on stairs. There’s no compromise there. However, our gates can be customized to fit any opening so the likelihood of them fitting in your new home is much better as we can add or remove extensions. Latching cabinets and drawers with hazardous contents is also a must. If you can, box up the dangerous items until you move. Depending on the age of your child some babyproofing might be able to be postponed until you move into your new home. Talk to the consultant about your plans and he’ll make his recommendations accordingly.

23. Can we do some of the work and let Boo Boo Busters do the hard stuff?
- Sure. Go for it with the less volatile easier to install child safety devices like latches, knob covers or padding. But leave the gate and window guard installation to the professionals as improper installation can lead to unnecessary injury and frustrating wall damage.
