The Boo Boo Busters Beginning

Founded by Manhattan Beach Mom Kimberly Mitchell.  Boo Boo Busters was born in 2001.  Kimberly formerly a journalist, had her investigative techniques put to test when her newborn daughter began crawling around our, what seemed like a booby-trapped home. In her search for a babyproofing company, she was surprised that there was nothing local. A man had spoken about child safety in her Mommy & Me class but he turned her off with his scare tactics keeping her from relating to him on such a personal matter.  There was a need for a more professional childproofing company offer a practical and common sense approach combined with best practices for child safety.

After reading everything she could get her hands on, Kim approached family friend Rodney Taylor, a general contractor and finish carpenter who would join her to create this new approach to childproofing. Together researching all safety products, joining a host of industry associations, taking CPR and first aid courses, attending child safety conventions and meetings, consulting firemen and police officers, dialoged with childproofing professionals across the nation/world and experimenting with 100’s of different products in their homes. It took some time to discern between effective, quality products amidst the vast substandard items available at retail stores and they unearthed the best! After becoming child safety experts. Boo Boo Busters was founded and we have since babyproofed thousands of homes in L.A. and O.C.

Child Proofing In-Home Consultations and Installations

Our consultations identify and prioritize the baby safety issues in your home. It takes about 60 minutes for us to compile lengthy lists of observations and recommendations. You'll receive practical tips and suggestions you can easily address on your own. Other recommendations will be product or service related: from child safety gates and child proof cabinet latches to custom solutions for window protection, electric protection, bracing of furniture, balcony protection, removable pool fencing and more.
We charge a modest fee of 75.00 for our In-Home consultations and credit back the whole amount if our customers move forward with an installation. Consultations are great for new parents who are not familiar with baby product or common hazards and Customer homes that have uncommon or difficult home layouts.

If you mostly already know what areas of your home concern you and would like us to babyprooof, just contact us and describe which areas you would like to secure and a Boo Boo Busters representative will quote you on the phone or email you a free quote. For example, let us know that you would like gates for the top and bottom of your staircases, cabinet latches for your kitchen and bathrooms and electrical outlet protection and toilet locks. Let us know how many of each of these products you'd like us to install. We will help you select the appropriate products and prepare an estimate and then we will install the products at your convenience.

If you have questions about a particular product or potential hazard area, simply add your question to the form, or even send us a picture of your questionable area of concern and we can accurately suggest the correct product to install.

Our installers can show up on the scheduled day and install your requested products and if you still have concerns, our installers carry a large variety of specialty safety product on their trucks to solve most hazards. If there were hazards you were unaware of, don't worry, all of our technicians are certified licensed childproofers that can address any and all of your questions with solutions and suggestions.

There are no Consultation Fees for Same Day Installation Services, you can get babyproofed and educated about your home hazards all at once! Saving you time and money.
